This is a group of senior pupils who meet once per week to organise and facilitate events within and outwith the school. In this way they contribute to their school community. So far they have organised: our school book fair, Pantomime trip for 40 S1 pupils in December, the Bonnie Scots three day event in November to celebrate our Scottish culture and prepare for the big 700th anniversay events of next year and have created ideas and fundraising for the Christmas Service, the Phillippines and Syrian refugees. In addition ACE are responsible for the ongoing certification of the school’s Fairtrade status. This year they will go on to facilitate a transition event for P7s where they enter a competition to design a front cover for our school planners, Fairtrade Fortnight and the Easter
The group are accountable to school management and each year present their year’s work as well as evaluate their own personal challenges. Each pupil sets targets which they strive to achieve throughout each of the events they are promoting, organising and facilitating. We have found in the last few years that senior pupils steadily grow in confidence and self-esteem as they speak in front of others, visit primary classes and liaise with management and staff.
